I use FlyLady a lot for inspiration, but the particulars aren't nearly as important as the attitude. If you approach everything with the idea that it must earn space in your home either by being used regularly or being loved, it eliminates a lot of STUFF! Then, once you get in the habit of requiring things to earn their space, you also get in the habit of bringing fewer things in, in the first place, knowing that you will likely be decluttering them not too far down the road! (Disclaimer: I have been working on this for years and still have a long way to go).
